Training

As a part of our commitment to each employee at IDS, all employees are given equal opportunities to succeed through our training programs. Every current and new employee is trained by completing IDS' Minimum Standard Training program. The contents of this detailed program include training on the following:

Company: IDS History, The IDS Mission, Values, and Purpose Statement, The IDS Way, Core Competencies/Values, Code of Ethics and Open Door Policy.

Workplace Safety: General Safety Rules, Workers' Compensation, Violence in the Workplace, Security Requirements and Emergency Action Plan.

The IDS Employee Manual: Common Policies You Should Know, Policy Against Harassment and Drug and Alcohol Policy.

Safety Training: Emergency Response & Evacuation, Fire Safety, General Workplace Safety, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Ergonomics, Back Care & Safe Lifting, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment.

Work Area Safety: Housekeeping, Fire Safety, Flammable & Combustible Liquids, Slips, Trips & Falls, Storage, Other Causes of Injuries, Lockout/Tag Out, Hearing Conservation and Confined Space Entry.

Each employee is provided a Participant's Manual to use during the training and all IDS Trainers follow a Trainer's Guide to ensure consistent training throughout the entire company. Each employee must complete this initial Minimum Standards Training before he/she moves forward with any operational training.

IDS is currently enhancing its training program to include Tier II, III and IV Training Programs. These programs will focus on progressive management training and development criteria that will promote leadership growth and development for the IDS Management Team.

These programs will provide a progressive path that will include such training modules as:

  • Basics of Interviewing
  • Corrective Action
  • Basics of Employment Law
  • Alcohol and-Drug-Free Awareness Program
  • Workers' Compensation
  • The Performance Management Cycle-Goal Setting
  • Coaching and Performance Review
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Diversity and Workplace Professionalism

In addition, there will be a mentoring and coaching component to help participants maximize the effectiveness of their training.
